To Do: Read Proverbs 17
Focus Point: Proverbs 17:1 & 9
Verse 1 says, Better a dry crust eaten in peace than a house filled with feasting and conflict.
Verse 9 says, Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.
We’re focusing on these two scriptures because they definitely go together when dealing in marriage because marriage is work. There is going to be some yielding, compromising, disagreeing and more but it is quite important to forgive and to forgive quickly.
I find that holding on to unforgiveness eats away at you. You can be upset about something your spouse did or said but when you decide to hold on to it, you lose peace and separate yourself from your spouse. This brings us to verse one which is saying it is better to eat a dry morsel in pean than for you to walk around with a terrible attitude with no peace and a house full of conflict.
You may feel like you were right and hold on to your anger but it will hurt you in the long run. Always strive for peace in your home and forgive others because you will need God to forgive you.
Affirmation of the day:
I have peace in my home, my heart and my marriage.
