To Do: Read Proverbs 14
Focus Point: Proverbs 14:1
This is sort of what we talked about in yesterday ‘s devotion. You must be determined to build your home and not tear it down. A wise woman strives to be an asset to the marriage bond and doesn’t allow herself to be a liability. She looks for ways to use money wisely as well as looks for ways to make and save money! As a wise woman, seek to be apart of your husband’s life by making his interests your interests. You may be surprised to find that these new interests will become your favorite things to do so give it a try. I can’t stand science fiction movies or shows (or so I thought). But my husband is heavily into them, so it wouldn’t kill me to check out one of his favorite shows instead of judging them. So I began to watch them with him one day while I was spending time with him and I absolutely fell in love with the one show and now it’s one of my favorites that I even watch without him.
Always try to find ways to help your husband out the best way you can. A wise woman sets a joyful mood in the house and uses laughter and positive atmosphere to help take the stress off of her husband. Seek to meet his needs and his desires even before he is aware of them. Look for ways to honor him and reverence him.
A wise woman isn’t pitiful or whiney but confident, thankful and capable. Seek to be these things for your husband and seek the Lord’s help because after all he did make your spouse.
Affirmation of the day:
I use wisdom to build my home up and not tear it down with my own hands.
