To Do: Read Proverbs 5
Focus Point: Proverbs 5:15-20
I love that this chapter discusses purity in marriage. Proverbs 5 is giving us some direct instructions on how to behave in our marriage. It is clearly stating, if you are a woman to steer clear of being immoral. In other words, steer clear of being evil, wicked, foul, wrongful and unethical. The Bible calls the immoral woman as dangerous as a double edged sword who’s steps lead straight to the grave.
Men are given a directive concerning this woman and that is to STAY AWAY FROM HER for if you go near her, you will lose not only your honor but all you’ve achieved while some one else enjoys the fruit of your labor.
Husbands and wives are to enjoy one another. Take a moment to think about why you got married and think of the spouse of your youth and how they made you feel. Learn to enjoy every season that you find yourselves in. Again, marriage definitely has it’s share of rough patches but it’s important that each spouse make a commitment to stay faithful to one another. It is clear in the Bible that you should drink from your own well and share love only with your spouse. Anything else is not worth it so continue to protect your marriage.
When my husband and I are having a rough patch, we ESCAPE into our marriage. Click here to find out some tips on how to escape into marriage instead of running the risk of losing it all by being unfaithful.
