To Do: Read Proverbs 4
Focus Point: Proverbs 4:25-27
Look Straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.
I love this scripture because it is so practical. You ever find yourself being a good steward over what God has blessed you with but then some how a family member or friend has gotten themselves in a bind and now all of a sudden, their emergency has become yours? This happens all of the time and my husband and I have experienced it on a number of occasions.
When you have a vision for your marriage, fix your eyes in front of you. If you and your spouse have been saving money for a home and a family member calls tomorrow and says they need to borrow $5000 because they are in a bind, it is not fair to the other spouse for you to give the money away with out discussing it. Should you be out of a house or blessing that God has for you because some one else didn’t exercise wisdom with their finances?
Look forward in marriage, not behind you. Don’t give the enemy an open door by getting side tracked. Don’t get upset with your spouse and begin to think about your ex who just hit you up on social media and now you’re looking back on that relationship wondering how they are doing. They are doing just FINE WITHOUT YOU! They momma fine, they dog fine and they cousins are all FINE. Don’t allow a temporary angry moment have you comparing your ex to your spouse and now you’re glorifying the past. Let the past be the past because there is a reason why you are NOT with them now.
What other practical advise can you think of when you meditate on this scripture? Give us your feed back. This scripture allows you to think on the God given vision and plans He has for you and your marriage. Stick with them and no not get side tracked.
