What would a lie do?

What’s good world It’s Ya Boy J-Hov!

So I was talking to my Queen and we were discussing John 8:32 which states,

“Then you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall set you free.”

So today’s Blog Post is more of a question that I pose to you guys and you can comment and let me know what it means to you. So here’s my question,

If the truth shall set you free, then what would a lie do?

I’m still thinking about my own answer to this question. Hope to hear from you guys. Take a minute to reflect on this throughout the day!

Be Blessed!

Team Holmes

Nothing is worth anything if we don’t have peace.

I took this statement out of the book of Job, chapter 22 verse 21 when I was reading my morning devotion. We seem to chase money and fame but neither are any good if we don’t have peace. Having the most important job in the whole company won’t do you us any good without peace either. Some people spend their lives trying to climb this ladder of success, and every time they go up one more step, they lose more of their peace because of the pressure. They also  miss on quality time that they could be spending with their families.

Let’s be reminded not to let our health fall apart while we are in the grind because we are losing our peace of mind. Without peace our lives will be full of dysfunction, confusion and chaos. But when we have PEACE, we have a great thing indeed!

Be blessed all day!

Love Always,

Toxic Relationships

Hubby and I were conversing about friendships and realized that one of the most painful realizations in life is that you are in a relationship that does not mean as much to the other person as it does to you. This relationship is toxic. I will let hubby discuss some of the details of our conversation.

What’s up y’all it’s YA Boy Jim. I want to start off by saying, if you have someone in your life that feels that they can take you or leave you,

unhealthy relationships

One sided relationships are doomed to fail. These kinds of relationships are unhealthy and detrimental. On the way to failure, there will be disappointment, dysfunction, and frustration.

Both my wife and myself have learned that you definitely have to set boundaries in friendships and relationships.  This helps people understand how far they can go with you and communicate what you will and will NOT allow.  It also keeps you healthy and keeps other people from taking too much of your time, energy, or resources.

We encourage you to take the time out to identify people in your life with whom you could be in toxic relationships with and understand how important it is not to allow them to damage you emotionally.

Remember that God has an awesome plan for your life so keep your heart fully alive so you can enjoy those plans.

Have an awesome week! Evaluate the toxic people in your life and make changes accordingly. Be blessed!

Step outside of your comfort zone to do something different. In order for you to get a different result, you’ll have to do something different. It’s amazing how we will keep trying the same things to open new doors.

Why Did I Get Married???

Tyler Perry’s movies, Why did I get married 1 and 2 was on this weekend and as I watched, I gave some thought to why I got married and thought I would share it. This question has been asked to both me and my husband plenty of times, especially because we have been best friends for so long.

Well my husband and I were both very successful singles. We enjoyed our independence, working, and living life.  I enjoyed doing my own thing and jumping up to do whatever I wanted to do and when! Like going to Vegas for a month and traveling everywhere. Plus all of the horror stories I heard about marriage had turned me off after a while, especially since I had already been down this road and it DID NOT turn out well. Everything was, YOU must SUBMIT/OBEY! I’m like please, ain’t nobody got time for that; my daddy don’t even tell me what to do.  Ofcourse it was my desire to get married ONE day, but I totally wasn’t beat after going through some hurtful things in previous relationships.

But then, I had to get alone with God. Just me and Him and nobody else, and have him cleanse me and make me whole again before I could even begin to consider this marriage talk again.  I attend the Marriage School at Seeds of Greatness Fellowship Church faithfully on Tuesday evenings, and I begin to learn so many things about marriage and what God says about it, and I began to change my mind.

The thing that stood out to me the most was the roles of husbands and wives.  We began to study Genesis and what Adam was doing when the Lord said that it was not good for him to be alone.  His job was to guide, guard and govern the earth.  So Adam was a working man! And the Lord created a helper for him that was suitable, adaptable and complemetary to him.

So, why did I get married? First because I absolutely love love love my husband, who happens to be my very best friend.  He’s a great leader, protector, and provider.  This is the type of man, (like Adam), who needs a help meet. I married him to help him, to love him unconditionally, to add to his life and not subtract from it, to pray for him, honor him and respect him for as long as I live.  I married him to enrich his life and bring him good, not harm all the days of his life.

Be blessed all day and Be Ye Transformed!

P.S. God Loves you and so do I!

I Always Have Enough

A Divine Transformation

My Story

Coach Maine

A Native of Newark, New Jersey I am the oldest of 4 children by my parents Ronald and Charlene Gibson. I am a Disciple of Christ, a Wife, Blogger, and Transformational Fitness Coach! After graduating from Montclair State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, I began working for Arrow Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation as an Office Manager.

As a child of God, I just knew HE was tugging at my heart to do something big and He told me that he would transform me into the woman of God He would have me to be.  I began to spend time in His word and he placed it on my heart to train the BODY of CHRIST!

I have always had a passion for fitness and transforming my body.  I LOVE FOOD, so with that being said, my weight has fluctuated up and down over the years.  I have tried every diet, every diet pill and every program there was just to find that as soon as you stop taking the pill, or get off the diet, the weight returns.  The Lord brought to my attention 1st Corinthians 6:19 which reads, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a price. So you must honor God with your body (NLT)” .

So I researched and got help from athletic trainers in the gym and physical therapists and slowly began to educate myself.  Romans 12:2 says, ” Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (NLT)”.  So I continued to study his word and let Him do just that. My eating habits and exercise habits have been completely transformed and I have still been able to eat the things that I absolutely love, such as pizza, ice cream, and cheesecake.

My Mission is to help build the body of Christ one muscle at a time!

Most people have tons of excuses and circumstances that keep them from transforming.  Well, I am the coach that meets you where you are! I have been a trained corrections officer for 3 years so I can train in any situation; the gym, park, your home, church, outside, rain, snow, etc.  Yes,  I do house calls! I can make a transformation program that fits your needs and your schedule and I am also your accountabilty partner to keep you motivated to transform.

Stay Tuned! Much More to Come!

Be Ye Transformed! Cool
